It’s wet out there

Driving over The River Avon this morning – where the M5 crosses it just outside Tewkesbury – I couldn’t fail to notice that there were boats moored in what a couple of days ago were fields, a good half-mile inland from the normal course of the river.

Further south there are enormous floods outside Cricklade, Wiltshire.

Many fields are covered in water; the area looks like an extension of The Cotswold Water Park.

Except a few weeks ago there were cows, sheep and horses grazing, and crops growing in those water-filled pastures.
