iPoddery

Bit of an experiment.

If you click here you should be able to fetch an .xls file containing my iPod contents.

We shall see if it works!

If it doesn’t work, here’s a Google Docs link to the same file.

Logic tells me that the Google Docs link will be much quicker; there’s no client software installation.

Just playing around with the technology here…

  1. I was playing around with old C# apps I wrote ages ago before I archived them off the laptop to an external disk; I updated a conversion utility designed to to suck the data from one HR system and import it in to another.

In this instance it pulled the data out of iTunes, stripped out reams of unwanted text then formatted and saved the remaining text in to *.xls.

I could have added some additional code that would have automatically called my FTP software (Filezilla), connected to the server, cd’d to the appropriate directory and uploaded the target file to the host, but I did that last bit manually because I was starting to lose concentration.

  2. They’re Icelandic Miss D (as is the haunting Kate Havnevik).

But if you watch BBC TV you’ll have heard snippets of Sigur Ros, they use it as backing music to trailers etc. 🙂
