Helloooooooooooooooo!

Yes indeed, I have finally found the time to sit down and write something.

How are you?

What’s new?

Me?

Oh, we’re back on broadband now, obv. We’ve been with PlusNet for six whole nights and they haven’t cut the service off once.

In your face, BT.

I could write loads more about BT because, even though we have now moved our broadband to higher ground, and are in the process of shipping our phone service to PlusNet too, BT seem absolutely intent on fucking us over.

They’ve billed us for a service they stopped giving us last month. And, to make things worse, they’re still taking the money too!

Utter twats.

And we had a letter from some complete drongo who claims to be the Customer Service Director for BT; in the letter he says that BT are going to charge us for taking our telephone service away from them.

Even though BTCare said there would be no charge because of the absolutely fucking awful service we’ve experienced for a year.

And, get this – no, really, get this – Mister Fucking Customer Service Director for BT says that we’ll *continue* to get charged for the broadband service – the same broadband service that we haven’t been receiving since 10th February.

BT – you really are beyond a joke.

Anyway, I’m not going to moan about them because, let’s face it, that would be an almost full-time pursuit these days.

So instead I’m going to say that I’m mental at work, putting in a tremendous number of hours a week; I seem to be carrying three major projects and two smaller ones.

And I’m writing a lot; currently working my way through a backlog of Album/Singer/Band reviews.

And I’m editing audio.

And I’m editing video for a small engineering company in Banbury; and trying to get acquainted with lighting techniques.

And I’m going to guitar lessons every Tuesday; yes, I’m trying to improve.

Trying.

Anyway.

And the podcasting is going well; the show continues to gain listeners, albeit at a much slower rate than we were picking them up 18 months ago.

Are we close to hitting our natural ceiling?

It would be a shame to plateau just shy of a really significant number of listeners, which is where we almost are.

And interviewing people a lot; I’m potentially interviewing two bands this weekend, if we can get venues sorted out.

And planning a trip to the US next month.

And trying to catch up on all my web-based reading.

So yes.

A bit busy.

What’s new with you?

Here’s a two-minute video to watch while you think about what you’ve been up to:

  1. It’s fabulous to have you back me dear! BT are complete twats, and as if that isn’t bad enough, they have NO accountability for their poor performance. At least these days there is some competition emerging to rattle their cage.

Bloody hell, how do you fit your days into 24 hours? How do you have time to breathe?!

Me, I’ve been busy trying to get my London house ready to sell. I am like Ann Maurice from ‘The House Doctor’.

  2. It is a thing of wonder to me how foreign the roads now look after such a short time of living ‘abroad’. I *know* those roads so well yet now they look even more impossibly tiny and the passing traffic so perilous to eyes over-used to the massive expanses that are American highways.

If it’s any consolation at all our cable company – Cox – managed to disconnect our internet and TV connection last week as they’d decided that we were no longer customers. A bit of a blow when they discovered that not only were we still customers but that our ‘new’ apartment was actually serviced by them and was less than 75 feet from our old apartment. At least they fixed it in under an hour unlike your debacle.

BT Broadband – less woah more woe.

  3. yes indeed welcome back… and sooooo glad I don’t have to deal with BT.. the day before coming here internet kept dropping off.. called in morning and low and behold engineer was there sorting wires out etc at 1pm that afternoon… BT could learn a few things there me thinks!

  4. And yet BT claim that thousands are returning to them every month. At least, they used to claim that in their adverts. I doubt it was true.

Anyway, yes, welcome back young man.

  5. It’s not that thousands are coming back to them, it’s that thousands have given up the fight to stop paying them for shit or non existent service as they fear for their sanity, they are now resigned to paying two providers, only one of which will bother to give them what they’re paying for. The one that isn’t BT.

I like your driving videos, they’re relaxing. And that looks like a gorgeous village. I want to live in a gorgeous village. Sadly I don’t.

  6. Hiyer folks. Here’s the best thing…. Last night I got an email from BT to tell me that we’d downloaded 19Gb of material last month and, as a result, they were going to charge us lots of money extra. Except last month was the month we didn’t have broadband.

    Go figure BT’s awesome hopelessness.
