This Reality – Podcast No 8

Episode 8 (30 minutes running time).

Introductions once again from the lovely-voiced Citronella and the great Adam Curry.

Episode 8 was recorded on a dull, overcast Saturday afternoon with me being totally knackered (having just finished cross-country schooling with Vin).

Music:
We start Episode 8 with a new (unsigned!) musical talent. The Swindon-based group Sing Sing Hotel kick us off with the brilliant Rico (a look backwards at growing up). Swindon has given the musical world the quirkily wonderful XTC. Is Sing Sing Hotel another influential band in waiting?

Duran Duran give us Falling Down.

We take a brief listen to the beach-dancing music of Sandy and the Surfsonics.

We play out with the unusual but very pleasant Undetermined by A Rex.

  1. Oh. Such a subtle invitation to kick my ass and contribute again. I’m touched 😉

    (I really did blush ridiculously…)

  2. I’ll tell you what you could do. Put chapters/track breaks in so I could jump past the music and not have to listen to it. I do like music, but I like the music I like. I’ve just finished work, where there was eight hours of the stuff, none of it my choice. I’m back in again at 12:30 for more of the bloody stuff.

Why do you think all the radios in my house are permanently tuned to radio 4? I like spoken word & hearing about stuff. If I want to listen to music, I’ll fire up some tunes.

It’s late/early. I’ll make a more coherent comment over the next few days.

  3. Ginny: I love you!

Citronella: Not kicking your ass dear. Everyone’s free to contribute. But your voice is very honeyed.

cha0tic: Thanks for this. Inserting breaks is a great suggestion. I need to read up on how to do this (I don’t think CastBlaster does it). Cheers.
    🙂
