I spent a large slab of yesterday being outside in the end-of-the-world-style pouring rain.
In Wiltshire.
On two wheels.
Sitting astride 1,000cc of vroom.
Smiling.
Despite the non-stop torrential downpour, I cruised through, in and around Chippenham and the surrounding area, before heading over to Castle Combe racetrack for some wet-weather-oh-my-God-I-can-feel-the-back-end-trying-to-overtake-me fun.
This morning I am still trying to dry my bike jacket and trousers out.
It was a fun day.
But I really wouldn’t want to have been a learner out in that.
The road surfaces were lethal.

A course, you say?
OK, I was leaning toward some sort of Advanced Motorcycle Training before you mentioned the racetrack.
But now I’m guessing you fancy a poke at Valentino Rossi.
Oh, and it just did it again: “Your request timed out. Please retry the request.” I don’t think it’s my end – I’ve never had it on any other site.
Thanks for the error message info. I have reinstalled WP which obviously didn’t work. I’m going to unpick the server to see if there’s a time element being injected somewhere.
I’m aiming to get my full racing certificate in the summer in Barcelona.
Man alive, that sounds like fun. I wish I was there – next time you go, can you invite me?!!!
I am loving how you and Mash are sticking to the one-blog-a-day competition. Bloody brilliant!
Thanks, Annie. It’s fun, the one-a-day target. But not as much fun as yesterday was (despite the rain!).
Have you bought yourself a toy Mr B?
I love Castle Combe. Quite fancy getting one of the toys out there again actually.
No, I haven’t. I’m thinking on investing in a Kawasaki ZX9R though. Just for fun.
