A quick change (20/29)

Not the blog post I had planned for today

Young Masher has reported a timeout error when commenting.

The first step in overcoming the problem is to reinstall WordPress (just done that), check for random timeout restrictions in the MySQL database (just done that) and change the design (just done that too).

If the problem reoccurs I will unpick the database that drives the website.

Oh, what fun.

  1. well that didn’t trigger the problem. testing for the timeout error, as reported, for the second time.

  2. that didn’t work either, even after leaving a long gap between starting/finishing typing. testing for the timeout error, as reported, for the third time.

  3. that didn’t work either, even after leaving a very long gap between starting/finishing typing.

testing for the timeout error, as reported, for the fourth tine.

  4. OK, maybe the problem IS at my end… not sure how though. I shall take my time writing this comment.

I don’t think it started when you last changed your design, more round about when you moved back to your old server. Which, of course, could be pure coincidence.

Nope… it did it again. I’m off to leave some long-winded comments elsewhere and see if it still happens.

I take it no-one else has reported this?

  5. Just thought I would do a test too, I’m just off to make a cuppa then I’ll submit this.

    *sups tea* Right, here goes…
