I have just got my mate Arthur Pewtey to leave a comment on this post, by cutting and pasting that BBC news url.
As you can see, it hasn’t appeared.
I think you definitely have a problem, mate.
The emigrants in the 1600’s certainly did not come to the Americas to escape persecution and tyranny – although there was a religious aspect in some of their minds.
However, the breach from the motherland ca. 1776 was most certainly an escape from same.
Maybe Barry O will make further amends . . .
Mash, cheers for the info. It’s going to take me a while to get to the bottom of this. I can’t believe it’s a WordPress problem but I’m going to have a WP upgrade in the next week or so. If that doesn’t fix the problem I’ll take the database apart and look for the cause there.
