Hosting news (sorry about this)

In a Tweet LizSara asked: ‘when oh when is your feed going to start working again?

The answer is ‘soon’.

I’m dumping Servage, the people who host this blog, my website and the podcast. I have just taken a four-year, unlimited domain name, unlimited bandwidth and unlimited data storage agreement with a new host.

I’m taking backups of this blog, I have backups of the website (which hardly changes) and will soon be moving everything from Servage to the new host. Once it’s over there the RSS feeds should start working straight away – and they’ll be the same feeds too.

I’m dreadfully sorry it’s taking so long to get sorted but Servage have screwed up and I can’t continue to sit around with my thumb up my bum and my brain in neutral any longer while they ask me to clear my browser cache (once again) and try the feeds one more time.

I’ll let you know the precise date when the changeover is going to happen.

  1. I’m confident to a degree, but also… I need to spend some company money on frivolities before the year end.
    🙂

  2. You’re back! Thought you’d been quiet :o)

The only problem I have with your new feed is that it’s truncating to the first 100 words or so of each post and if I want to read the whole thing I have to click through to your actual blog, which to a lazy Google Readerer like myself is mildly annoying – any chance of it going back to feeding the full post?

  3. I have to keep most of it back, I’m expecting a truly horrendous tax bill due to the aforementioned accountants. 🙁
