You know what I mean.
That irresistible urge.
Usually first thing in the morning or last thing at night.
Sometimes both.
Sometimes during the day too.
But, no matter how, you know, how much you want to slip away and have a little, you know, quality time…
It isn’t convenient.
Or, when you’re at home and it is either the morning urge or the evening urge, you just feel too tired to start the ball rolling.
Well yeah.
That.
So, my workaround, my very, very cunning plan to help me get to grips with my secretive urge is to…
Keep my acoustic guitar in my car.
Because no matter how much I feel like getting guitar practice in the morning, there just is not time.
And no matter how much I feel like guitar practice in the evening, I’m usually just too deadbeat.
But keeping my acoustic in the car seems to be working.
I slip out to the car for a 20-minute lunchbreak and get my daily practice.
But I could really do with someone else to work with.
My Tuesday lessons with Trev are brilliant; he makes me work for it, but he joins me, and we duet most of my exercises.
But I’m looking to make progress quicker, and a practice partner might help.
I might put a notice up in the music shop.
Just to see.
Just to stop me from playing with myself quite as much as I do.
I was trying to think of something amusing to say… involving a plectrum.
But I couldn’t.
I’m always fiddling with my plectrum. And never hold it tight enough.
Sort of rhymes with rectum and spectrum – some lyric ideas for your next car sesh, Brennig.
Thanks Mya, I shall work it in ass best I can. I mean ‘as’ now ‘ass’. Obv.
Blimey, you had me a bit worried for a second! I wanted to say something amusing about plucking, but couldn’t think of anything.
