After walking the dogs (and brrrr, it’ was minus 2c out there!) I’ve been catching up with some overdue geekage.
I’ve updated the core .php versions on a bunch of websites I host. I’ve removed some legacy functionality (always best to get rid of code that is no longer used). And I’ve installed SSL certificates on a bunch of websites, to stop that annoying Chrome message ‘This site is not secure’ from popping up.
Global and incremental backups are taken automatically, but I’ve just run through the audit logs just to check everything’s still good. It is. I’ve done a test restore-from-backup for one of the websites and its php/MySQL database. All OK, obviously.
Next I’m going to run through the backup records on the NAS, to make sure that the laptop is protected against any unfortunate events. Then I’ll check the NAS backup file library, and then I’ll run through the NAS-to-external-storage backups, just to ensure everything is in order there.
Belt and braces.
Sounds like a fun day. I’ve dealt with most of those things, though I need to revisit site backups as they are reliant on a computer that may not be around much longer.
And then there is the question of where to from Centos — still plenty of time yet.
Been a while since I’ve geeked any more than a quick sudo yum update, though.
I loves a bit of geekage. It’s a good Sunday activity
