Well, yesterday was the final weekend of the car crash that has been my performance in the RYA course. Three and a half weekends of classwork and two days of exams have culminated in me being the proud owner of a piece of paper that bears my name.
This means that I’m now licensed to scare professionals internationally. Or something.
Anyway, my quest to dominate the rest of world continues apace.
Oh yes.
Well done.
You should be proud of yourself… learning new stuff at your age.
Put that certificate in a nice frame and nail it to your wall.
Not the wall of your boat, obviously, that would be a bad thing.
Maybe they cover that in the exam.
What do you mean ‘learning stuff at my age’? Eh? Eh? I’m 96 you know. Now there’s an interesting point you’ve touched on. I’m required to keep copies of all documentation onboard a thing that is inherently prone to damp. So I’ve hooked up with someone who does excellent print-quality photocopying and laminating. I need to get my Ofcom and RYA stuff over to them for treatment.
