In a rare occurrence the world hasn’t experienced since my teens (probably), I am out again this evening, in Newark this time. Two back-to-back nights out? Well.
First of all I’m going to a play reading (it’s what they do in the early stages of, erm, stagecraft). And then I’m going to a meeting of the Fosseway Writers. And, while I’m on the topic of going out to lit. things, next Tuesday I’m attending an online conference of the Society of Authors.
I have to say the SoA are a very active bunch. They seem to work hard at putting on interesting, informative and educational sessions, most of which can be attended in person or virtually. All of the SoA events I’ve attended so far have been free to me – as a member. That’s pretty good value, frankly. I’ve got another SoA ‘do’ coming up on Saturday (but this one’s an in-person session). This means I would have been out three times in a week.
Gasp!
Slow down! You’ll burn yourself out.
