Spotify have been making a really big PR thing about finally shifting their streaming to lossless, but enquiring minds have been aware what Spotify are doing isn’t actually all that. Increasing the bitrate would be much more helpful than going to fat file streams.
I know I said, a couple of days ago, I was thinking of dumping Spotify for Qobuz, but then I read this article last night and now Spotify looks even less attractive.
So long as it’s not too lossy, I doubt my 63yr old ears would be able to discern the difference.
I seem to be falling further out of love with Spotify on a daily basis. The only thing I think I’d miss is the ‘wrapped’ summary at Christmas.
