In a massive swerve of behaviour, the weather decided not to rain on us today. The huge amount of water in the field behind the house is still a huge amount of water in the field behind the house because it has nowhere to drain to. But today the sun shone, the temp hit double digits and I was out in it for a long time. I went and hung around with a bunch of people who know everything there is to know about hollowpoints, full metal jackets, types of loads, minutes of angle and, of course, metric and imperial calibres. I had a terrific time and I learned a lot. There may be more on this topic in due course.

Nice one, Gunny.
I used to be a reasonable shot when I was younger, but the skill seemed to disappear as I got older…or maybe it was because I stopped practicing.
On holiday, some years ago, I surprised everybody – including myself – at how good I was with a bow and arrow. I must be regressing. I bet nowadays, I’m a crackshot with a trebuchet.
I didn’t know you were a shootist? The hardware I’ve used at the range is 5.56mm and 7.62mm. What have you used?
