Idiosyncratic idiosyncrasies

Dearest Reader, It is with some regret this author can barely contain oneself when viewing the period drama Bridgerton and careless errors are abundant. Idiosyncrasies are easily overlooked, but such things as horse attire (notably C21st stirrups, C20th general purpose saddles, and C20th standing and running martingales. I mean, for goodness sake!

  1. As an aviation nerd, I enjoy watching the Top Gun movies. I know they misrepresent so many things and that does not detract from the entertainment. In fact, I get more annoyed at ex fighter pilot YouTubers angrily decrying the movies. On a lighter note, I get *added* entertainment from terrible movie continuity errors like one I watched years ago that had a character (or two or more) take a single flight in the continental USA whereupon they took off, cruised, landed, and disembarked using three distinctly different aircraft.

The worst of it all is watching news media report on subjects with which you are familiar because it clues you in to how much (indeed little) you should trust their work on other topics.
