This is what I like about people. This is the goodness that is within us all.
There’s a guy at work – well, there’s a zillion guys at work but this one in particular I sit very near. He’s one of the good guys, remember them?
He’s a member of the not a dickhead, not a tosspot, not an arsehole, not mean, not nasty, not narrow-minded club.
He’s usually got a smile, always got time, a good listener (and he lets me read his paper every day).
This week he’s off to Melbourne (lucky git!).
The Lovely S has friends in Melbourne, The Aussie Rock Chick who she went to University in Canada with, and The Aussie Rock Chick’s other half Not Going Nowhere.
Not Going Nowhere is a cool dude, he and I share a number of tastes (a fondness for the Kawasaki ER6F being just one) so I dropped him a line just to ask if the good guy from work ran out of things to do, that Not Going Nowhere could suggest a few things.
At the speed of light came Not Going Nowhere’s phone number, email address and a long, long list of activities together with the offer that the good guy should get in touch.
Just like that, out of the blue.
I’ve never met Not Going Nowhere but his kindness and generosity wipes me out.
I think The Lovely S and I need to get back down under to see these nice people.

It’s things like that which make you stay optmistic
