I am sitting in the kitchen in London thoroughly enjoying myself. I’m previewing tracks for the next podcast.
I never thought I’d say this, but there is so much unplayed material in my play list we’re probably covered for the next year.
And yet I’m still looking.
I’ve just finished listening to a very endearing jazz/blues mix sung by a female vocalist who sounds like a white Eartha Kitt. How beautifully mixed up is that combination? And it is. Beautiful.
Currently pulverising my eardrums is a very loud piece of bass-driven German ‘Elektronik’ that I can only describe as The Son of ‘Big In Japan’ – that completely brilliant work by the much under-rated ’80s synth band Alphaville:
Pure 80s cheese – both that video and the track in my ears.
Cheese with an extra portion of cheese on top. And a side order of cheese. With fromage.
But just between the two of us?
It’s brilliant!
Anyway, we have another pre-release exclusive to play out this weekend. And no. It would be nothing to do with cheese.
Gold, yes.
But not cheese.
