… is wearing just one contact lense.
Bugger.
My right lense rolled up underneath my eyelid and it’s broken now.
The lense, not my eyelid. Der.
But can I find my spare lenses?
Can I be fuc damned.
Oh well…
Peers in to crystal ball.
I see a trip to Specsavers happening tomorrow.
B.
You remind me that I should really get an extra pair of glasses done.
If I break the ones I wear now… I won’t even be able to use the computer to let you know.
Normally I carry a pair of spare lenses, an emergency lense case and some fluid in my laptop bag. But last night I couldn’t find the spare lenses!
However everything is back to +20/20 this morning. Last night’s emergency repair worked brilliantly. I knew it was a little risky to let Small Tabby Cat who Doesn’t Live Here lick the offending lense and then soak it in her drinking water overnight, but – surprisingly – it worked a treat and the world is back to crystal clear clarity in both eyes. 🙂
I only wear glasses for reading – at the moment – but I’m always forgetting them. So, I now have 8 pairs: one set in my study, one in the bedroom, one in the car, one in the wife’s car, a pair in my work bag and even a pair up in the loft (it’s damn annoying to get all the way up there only to have to come down again for my specs) and two really cheap and nasty pairs for emergencies.
Contact lenses would be easier for me, I suppose, rather than all this rigmarole, but I just CANNOT stick anything in/on my eyeballs.
I cringed at your comment of the lens rolling up under your eyelid [shudder].
You’re a better man than me, Gunga-Din
interesting comparison I found between the three optical chains http://beta.glassesdirect.co.uk/compare
worth a look if you haven’t gone yet 🙂
