Creak

Creak

I really enjoyed getting out of bed and having to pop some painkillers and then hang around horizontally, waiting for them to take effect, before my body would allow me to flex sufficiently to enable me get dressed this morning.

Yesterday’s extreme activities that brought this ailment upon me included such cutting edge pursuits as walking the dogs, Teams calls, updating project plans and other work documentation, more Teams calls and walking the dogs again.

Obviously, I need to cut back on all these dangerous exertions and take up more sedentary pursuits.

  1. It’s a problem us athletes often suffer from: having a body that is so finely honed and at it’s limits, it sometimes doesn’t take much to push it over the edge.
Walking the dogs is often the straw that breaks the camel’s back.
    Or yours.
I find find taking an ice bath after each dog walk helps.

  2. I’m currently trying to overcome a problem with my sciatic nerve, but I have beaten lower and upper back problems before. One of the things I have learned is that your back is a “late onset” problem. I can remember putting my back out by lifting a toothbrush. In fact, the damage was done the previous day with some lifting and it was one small movement that finally pushed it over the edge into pain and spasm. The trick is to keep it moving with simple daily stretches and maybe some postural changes.
