A life less contradictory

Sometimes being an ultra left-wing supporter with occasional right-wing inclinations isn’t as easy as that might sound.

I know I’m shallow.

I’m deep, but I’m really shallow.

I love people.

But I hate them.

This means I’m some kind of people-friendly sociopath.

Not an oxymoron in sight, obv.

In other news…

Soph and I are hugely jet-lagged.

Our sleep patterns are shagged two ways to Tuesday.

As if my chronic insomnia isn’t bad enough.

Imagine, if you can, that you have a body clock that says one thing, a brain that says something else and every clock in the house says something completely different.

Not good, obv.

Meanwhile…

I see that this week’s Euromillions jackpot is £107 million.

I’m just composing my ‘Sorry, I can’t come in to work any more’ email.

Just in cases.

  1. Woo hoo! Travelling from West to East is always a major Jetslag horror! Apparently it takes one day to recover from one hour of time difference. So no wonder you feel like shit!

  2. I don’t get jet lag.. something to do with my inability to do anything but sleep on planes… nice to have you back.. enjoyed visiting the West coast with you !

  3. Oooh jet lag, fun times. FIngers crossed that wears off soon.
And sorry to have to break the bad news to you but that Euromillions win belongs to our syndicate so I’m afraid you’ll have to wait till the next large rollover because I’ve spent ages working out how to photocopy my arse and email it to the MD in lieu of a resignation letter.

    1. It’s mine I tell you, mine! But I might ask for a copy of your resignation letter because it sounds nicer to look at than the email I’ve written. Erm.

  4. I feel like I’ve got jet lag too.

A case of working nights. And days. In Reading.

I’ve been up since 3am and my head hurts.

  5. You’d tell work that you weren’t coming in if you won when you win the lottery? How very decent of you.

I quite like people too but as a group, and in many cases, individually, I find them infuriating and exasperating.

    1. What can I say, I was brung up proper. I could underline infuriating and exasperating but I won’t because that would only add to my contradictory contradictions. Anyway, not long now until I sent that email…
