Planning a weekend away

So, keeping busy is all well and good, but man cannot live by bread alone.

Whatever the fuck that means.

Actually, what that does mean, I think, is that although I’m feeling up and up and even more up (having finally taken a position of control in my life), I need to add a little spice to the pot.

So Friday 4th November – which is a pretty memorable date in my life anyway – it looks as though I’m legging it to Rome for the weekend.

The weather in Rome is currently hovering around 20c and sunny and, you know, although it would be very difficult, I feel I just have to grit my teeth and put up with that kind of nonsense.

I might take someone with me.

Who knows?

    1. Hey Perp. Yeah, I had a weekend there about (two? three) years ago as part of my OU course. Monday sounds good. I have to be out in the morning, definitely. What kind of day are we talking about?

  1. Already have plans. Otherwise would love to come 🙂 Seriously, though… have a great time. What are you going to do there? Why Rome?

    1. Oh Sally. And I was deliberately aiming the invitation at you, too. 🙂 Why Rome? Because it’s nice. And warm. There’s two good reasons. And what will I do? Eat. Walk about a bit. Sleep. Relax. Enjoy food. And wine. And maybe enjoy company if I can find someone else to take your place. 🙂

  2. Rome weather for the next few days: Lows 10-13 C / highs 19-21 C. Napoli is about the same. I was in Rome a few weeks ago for the first time – hectic, but fun. Have a great time.

    1. Thanks, planning on just kicking back and not really having an itinerary. And that weather sounds very attractive.

      1. And the partial destruction of the Euro. Yes, I’ll give you that.

But apart from the sanitation, medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh water system, public health and the partial destruction of the Euro, what have the Romans ever done for US?
