This is a late one for us – 23.55- and we’re still going strong!
We’ve just got back from dinner with friends in Oxford; it’s been a lovely evening. Fun, witty, interesting, entertaining.
Neither of us feels immediately like bed so we’ve flipped our laptops on whilst the television is showing us The Blair Witch Project.
What an absolutely awful film; the lead female has possibly the most irritating voice in the history of irritating voices. And a shockingly awful attitude.
Oh, I know all about the film, I’m just commenting on the person.
But the time has come to shut down, and I’m not just talking about the laptop.
I have to deliver a repaired PC tomorrow, and then go and look at a couple of horses.
So out of interest…
What are you up to on Sunday?
F’kall.
Actually, I shall be ferrying the kids around: swimming; McDonalds; park… but it amounts to about the same.
Arguing with my Mum, travelling back from Birmingham, wishing I was anywhere but where I am. The usual!
Working.
That’s the kind of shit that happens on Sundays in Israel.
Ask me about my Friday anytime, though.
Had a lovely evening, didn’t we?
My day today, retrospectively:
I should *NOT* have left the house.
I truly hate people.
They are all wankers – apart from those chosen few I like, of course.
People who descend upon Stratford-upon-Avon on a sunny Sunday should fuck off so that people like me and friend Gemma can wander around at will chatting without anyone getting in the way.
Hmm…when put like that, I sound completely unreasonable. How odd – I thought my hatred for all people was a rational thing…
Tate Modern. And very nice it was too.
On Sunday I was woken at 7am by the three dogs I was minding. This wouldn’t have been so bad except that the girls had been round the night before and judging by the number of bottles on the side in the kitchen when I went downstairs to let the noisy bastards out we drank a LOT. Which went some way towards explaining why I was still pissed at 7am. The rest of the day was spent on the sofa, watching crap telly and wishing the words ‘pinot grigio’ had never crossed my path.
Masher: The joys of family life?
Krazy Kitty: You can’t leave it there! Tell us about your Friday!
Sophie: Some people just are wankers.
Sally: Haven’t been, I’ve heard it’s nice.
Vicola: Hmmm… this sounds like a self-inflicted injury to me! 🙂
I read in bed. Then I had breakfast. Then I proceeded to all kind of bathroom showery things. Then I went to the post office, where I retrieved 3 postcards from, respectively, Norway, La Réunion, and the South of France. Then I walked through a park and went to a museum where I saw a lot of old and very old stuff (ceramic, ruins, firetrucks, mail boxes). Then I took a bus, did some grocery shopping, went home, and had lunch.
I’m not quite sure what happened in the afternoon / evening except for napping, Internet browsing, and a tiny little bit of preparation for a talk.
